Endodontics
Endodontics focuses on diagnosing and treating problems inside the tooth, particularly the dental pulp. Advanced root canal procedures help save infected or damaged teeth and relieve pain effectively.
About this service
Endodontics is the diagnosis and treatment of problems with the inside of the tooth, the soft tissue known as dental pulp. The most common endodontic procedure is the root canal. DR. SURUCHI CHAUDHARY (Endodontist) has extensive experience in performing root canals. Root canals are performed to save a tooth when the pulp becomes inflamed or infected due to decay, repeated dental procedures on the tooth, cracks, chips or other injuries. DR. SURUCHI CHAUDHARY also performs apicoectomies or removal of the tip of the root, which is useful for certain types of failed root canals. In some cases an apicoectomy can be cheaper and less traumatic than an extraction and dental implant. MICROSCOPIC DENTISTRY Microscopic dentistry is a modern branch of stomatology, which uses advantages of magnifying techniques in the examination and treatment of patients. In many other medical fields is the use of magnifying glasses and microscopes obviousness. Who would be examined by eye surgeon or neurosurgeon without these devices? Dentistry often works in the similar dimensions – the average dental crown size doesn't reach 1 cm even if it is put on the biggest teeth. For more easily procedures (examination, fillings, dental crowns, …) are normally sufficient loupes with magnification 2.5x–3.5x. Demanding procedures such as root canal treatment usually require a surgical microscope with a magnification of 3x–20x. Its advantage is not only the magnification, but also perfect lighting of structures at a depth of tooth, which otherwise would not have been possible to achieve. DR. SURUCHI CHAUDHARY is adaptive in microscopic dentistry. RETREATMENT CASES Following a successful root canal treatment, the tooth should begin to settle and any pain should resolve. However, if pain continues to increase after treatment or returns after recovery, an assessment by your dentist is required to identify the underlying cause. Root canal treatment has a greater than 90% chance of success. However, failures can occur due to missed canals, reinfection, cracks, or leakage. DR. SURUCHI CHAUDHARY holds a strong interest in retreatment cases and accepts the challenges of failed RCT with great enthusiasm. PERIAPICAL SURGERY Some patients present lesions in the maxillary bone or mandible around one or several roots that destroy supporting bone and cause pain or infection. These lesions are known as granulomas or periapical cysts and originate from chronic dental infection. Small lesions are usually treated with root canal therapy of the affected tooth. When a root canal does not resolve the lesion, retreatment may be required. If the lesion continues to persist, periapical surgery is recommended. At Dental Lifeline, periapical surgeries are performed with utmost care and precision, significantly improving success rates and long-term outcomes.
